Broker Don Julian Dies After Apparent Heart Attack
Don Julian a 50 year old securities broker and zoning official collapsed while playing basketball at West Junior High School and died at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial pending. Survivors include his widow Kathryn and three sons, his mother Ina Buchele, and he was a Kansas State alumnus and World War II veteran. He had lived in Lawrence since 1955 and worked with H. O. Peet.

Ex Lieutenant Guilty In Illegal Drug Possession

Sentencing Planned for Sauer in Marijuana Case
Raymond A. Sauer, 26, Chicago, pled guilty in Douglas County District Court to illegal possession of marijuana. Penalty ranges from one to seven years with sentencing set for November 24. Firefighters were alerted at 6 52 p m Thursday to a blaze at 1019 N J in the Revers Shears residence. An estimated 30 dollars in damage to the roof around the chimney was reported and a cigarette was listed as the cause. KU Contributor Red Burt dies at 85 in Hutchinson
C L Burt a 1909 KU graduate and long time benefactor died Thursday in a Hutchinson hospital at age 85 after a stroke. He served as Hutchinson mayor and Manhattan city engineer and donated over 200000 to KU including 100000 to the C L Burt Scholarship Fund and 50000 for the Environmental Health Laboratory. He led KU Alumni events and funded art and athletics presentations. Funeral set for 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson and Sons Mortuary Hutchinson.
