President Eisenhower and Mrs. Eisenhower visited Gettysburg where crowds cheered the couple at their farm. The president, said to be well after his heart attack, proceeded with a light schedule and planned to send a plane to Geneva to pick up Secretary Dulles.

former Labor Secretary under Eisenhower dies at 61 after a brain tumor illness lasting 14 months. Durkin a Pennsylvanian union leader and AFL Philadelphia Union president resigned September 1953 after seven months in the cabinet. He died at Georgetown University Hospital with his widow Anna H. McNicholas and three sons at his bedside.
