William Thurman twenty five year old highway bandit received five to fifteen years in the state penitentiary at Lansing after pleading guilty to grand larceny and highway robbery. Emporia Kansas November 14 1930 cancellation of the annual Thanksgiving day football game between Emporia Teachers College and College of Emporia threatened after a campus raid last night. Teachers College president Thomas W Butcher called a meeting of men students and said the game would be called off unless apologies and damages were repaired. Apologies and repairs were promised and College of Emporia acting president D C Schaffner said reparations would be made and the game would be played.
