Dairy Barn Burns At Kemper Dairy Farm Southeast Of Lawrence
Fire at the Kemper dairy farm eight miles southeast of Lawrence destroyed a milking barn and much equipment valued around 10 000 with insured coverage. Manager Harry Turner said equipment damage estimated two to three thousand dollars. Lawrence Fire Department responded at about 7 AM and fought the blaze, using the chemical truck to reach a water tank near the barn. Lawrence residents and Kansas University students are urged to buy remaining tickets this week at the KU athletic office for the Kansas Missouri football game in Columbia on Saturday November 24. Unsold Kansas seats in the near stadium will be returned to Missouri University Monday with good seats still available on the Kansas side.
