Escape of John O. Turlington Shocks Boonville Community

Boonville Mo reports the escape of convicted murderer John O. Turlington from the county jail after placin g a dummy in bed and slipping from under Deputy Nickoldson’s watch. He fled toward the Missouri Pacific line. three horses show signs of rough handling as deputies drive a wide search. Turlington’s arrest followed he shot at brake men near Otterville and was linked to the Pryor Creek train robbery. Temple, tied to the case, was later jailed at Fort Smith.
