Lowe's bans methylene chloride and NMP paint strippers
Lowe's will remove paint strippers containing methylene chloride and NMP from its shelves by year end. The move follows activism by Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families which pressured the retailer over health risks. The group hailed Lowe's as a first major U.S. retailer to act and urged Home Depot Walmart and Menards to follow suit.
