Downtown Lawrence street work and lane changes this week
Lawrence city crews begin concrete curb and street repairs from Sixth Street to North Park Street and from Vermont to New Hampshire streets with traffic limited to single lanes at times. A centered turn lane on Sixth Street between Folks Road and Monterey Way will be added, and a long term Kasold Drive lane narrowing project will continue with right turn only access on side streets. The Kansas River levee trail portion near Bowersock Mills will close for up to 20 months with a marked detour through Second and Locust streets. Citywide overlay and microsurfacing projects may cause temporary single lanes and closures.
