Unidentified man killed by car on Highway 10
An unidentified white man about 65 was struck and killed at 4 AM by a car driven by Claude J. Scott of 1600 Rhode Island Street. The accident occurred at the west end of the viaduct on Highway 10 opposite the India School. Scott, returning from Kansas City, says the hitchhiker stepped into the road. Coroner Dr. H. T. Jones ruled it an unavoidable accident. The body was taken to Funk Mortuary. the man had signs of prior injuries. He wore a brown suit, 5'8", about 140 pounds, gray hair, small mustache, carried a pocket knife and cigar tighter, no ID. A lining bore the name W. L. Cummins, Lincoln, Neb. Police in Lincoln were asked to help identify him.
