Beardsley to address men at Y M C A meeting

Hon H M Beardsley ex mayor of Kansas City will speak to a Lawrence men’s meeting at the Y M C A Tuesday night. Churches are invited and each may send 10 to 40 men. Tennis Scores From Oklahoma Kansas Indoor Meet

Kansas and Oklahoma teams competed indoors after bad weather. Wood and Bigelow of Kansas defeated Alden and Lampeer of Oklahoma in doubles. Bigelow won two singles sets over Alden, then lost the final set. Bigelow also beat Lampeer. Wood defeated Lampeer in straight sets. Alden holds the Oklahoma intercollegiate championship.

Parker Shows Close Evening Carnival in Lawrence

Tonight marks the final night of Parker Shows in Lawrence Booster week winds down despite heavy rain. The Model City, Japanese Village and Animal Show receive praise as top attractions while crowds remain large. the unit ed Bands give a free concert and the Wheel and Human Roulette thrill all night. Woman on trial for elder poisoning at St Louis

In St Louis on May 28, the murder trial of Mrs. Doxey continues over whether she poisoned William J. Elder with cacodylate of soda. Testimony cites a nephew noting it is strange his aunt does not eat the same food she serves. The judge warned of night sessions if the case isn’t closed by Tuesday.
