The Center for Responsive Politics reports neither Kansas Senator Pat Roberts nor Sam Brownback received contributions from the NRA's Political Victory Fund in the 1997 98 election cycle. Brownback did take 3000 from Safari Club International. four Kansas House members benefited from the gun lobby PAC.

Rollover Crash on County Road 458 Injures Three
Sheriff officials investigated a nighttime rollover on County Road 458 at 10 15 p m sending three occupants to Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A white 1991 Escort northbound failed to negotiate a corner and overturned in a field. Responding agencies included Wakarusa Volunteer Fire Department Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. Names of the injured were not released.
