Indoor shift for 1970 KU commencement in Fieldhouse
KU records show two 1970 commencements at Allen Fieldhouse with weather forcing the baccalaureate ceremony indoors after the first night were held outside in the stadium. The change, noted in commencement committee minutes, reflects a weather related move and a persistent trivia detail. A separate update reports a westbound turnpike sign at Lecompton struck by a vehicle three weeks ago and awaiting repairs.
