Uvaldo Alvarado, a 34 year old former factory worker who immigrated from Mexico, built Antonitos Mexicanos and a second eatery in Brooklyn with help from the Ms Foundation funded The 15 Projects and Accion New York loans totaling 9000 dollars. The loans funded a refrigerator and ventilation system, expanding her businesses and giving her financial independence.
