Joan Finney signed a bill allocating 18 million dollars to restore Hoch Auditorium gutted by lightning on June 15 1991 and to fund building projects at three other Kansas Board of Regents universities. The package draws on a one time 195 million federal appropriation with 500000 this year 1500000 next year and 8 million for the following two years. Construction should finish by spring 1995 with classes that fall. Chancellor Gene Budig called the funding a strong vote of confidence for regents universities.
