At the Eichmann trial a Bratislava Jewish leader testified that thousands of young Jews joined the 1944 Slovak uprising and fought Germans. He said many Jews were executed on sight and women and children murdered as deportations intensified. The testimony linked Eichmann to Nazi extermination plans across Romania and Slovakia. An elderly widow gave a witness account from Czernowitz where most of the 70,000 Jews perished from starvation disease and gas in camps.

Police and fire units ended a flood search for a Topeka boy believed to have fallen into Shunganunga Creek.
