Kanopolis Offering State Water Resort
Kanopolis State Park beside the 3500 acre Kanopolis Reservoir offers boating sailing and power boating with concrete ramps and a five acre sand beach. The dam completed in 1948 by the U S Army Corps of Engineers has drawn visitors with 42 camp sites 24 trailer sites and access roads to 20 picnic locations. By end of 1961 almost six million people had visited the park area.
