Planning commission backs Menards in south Lawrence plan
The Lawrence-Douglas County Planning Commission voted 6-3 to approve a nearly 190,000 square foot Menards store east of the Home Depot at 31st and Iowa streets. The decision moves the project toward final City Commission review, with supporters saying the store will boost inventory and revitalize a blighted mobile home park site.
