Editorial: mural debate veers off course in Lawrence
The Lawrence City Commission discussed a mural depicting stories of local women of color for the library area. Supporters, including the library groups, worry about altering the new $19 million building while the group Women of Color shifts the mural to the library wall due to garage surface issues. Community leaders urge focusing on finding the right public space rather than framing the issue as race or justice.
