Reformatory Sentence for Kansas City Man in Manslaughter
Phillip Douglas Jacobs 21 of Kansas City Missouri received a sentence of three to five years in the Hutchinson state reformatory for second degree manslaughter. He pleaded guilty to firing a high powered rifle through a closed window fatally striking Basil Brown 816 North J Street. Brown was Jacobs uncle. Calvin Cooper 31 of 507 East 8th Street drew 2 1/2 to 5 years for attempted burglary. Both men remain in Douglas County jail.
