Alpha Gamma Delta Forms New EU Chapter

Temporary housing was arranged today for the newly installed EU chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Mrs. Robert Ryan Jr. of Fairfield Iowa grand treasurer announces the chapter house in the fall will be at 1727 West 5th Street the building remodeled to accommodate 60 girls and their housemother. The new chapter also plans a permanent house on the Stewart Avenue lot it owns.

Conroy Plans Repeat Of U S Crossings In Jet Aircraft

John M. Conroy, the first to cross the United States both ways from sunrise to sunset, aims another U S crossing this Friday in a Lear Jet. He will fly east to Wichita and west to Tulsa with co pilot Clay Lacy, bringing his three kids if school allows.

Packed Plan Commission meeting eyes crowded agenda

Lawrence Planning Commission holds a 7 30 p m session at City Hall with an overflow crowd expected. Zoning requests include Meadow brook Addition Meadowbrook north of 15th and Iowa and residences near Ninth Street Avalon Road. Final plats for North Addition Four Seasons Addition and Crescent Road Spencer Drive plus university site and Holiday Hills areas are on the docket alongside street name changes. KLM Chief Killed In Plane Crash Over Swiss Alps

The president of KLM Dr Hora tio Albajda aged 61 and his wife and two pilots died when a two engine private plane crashed on the Fluela Pass in Switzerland. The craft was en route from Samadan to Zurich and wreckage was spotted Monday night. Albajda was due to retire later this year.

Fur Theft Fraud Charges in Olathe Shop Case

Gil bert James Aandresen owner of an Overland Park fur shop and Gloria Jean Underwood an employee were charged with fraud in a $58,000 fur theft report. They were booked in Johnson County jail and expected to post $5,000 bonds. The complaint alleges Aandresen Underwood and a third person falsely claimed furs were stolen on January 27 to claim insurance from Fireman Fund.

KU Junior Hurt In Freak Wreck

Jerry Mohr, 21, a Kansas University junior from Hutchinson, escaped serious injury in a freak one car accident near 16th and Ind. Streets. He was dragged by the vehicle after he tried to jump into the driver's seat and was knocked loose by a curb. The car hit a tree in the R. W. McClure lawn at 1635 Ind. St. No other injuries were reported in related crashes.
