Kansas to honor Brown v Board mural at Statehouse
Kansas officials led by Brown Kenya Cox unveil a 22 by 8 foot mural at the Statehouse depicting the 1954 Brown v Board of Education decision and its legacy. The centerpiece shows a black teacher with multiracial children before the Supreme Court, with Thurgood Marshall’s portrait nearby, while left and right panels show white and Black reactions. Public dedication follows an earlier VIP reception and a proclamation by Gov. Colyer marking the 64th anniversary.
