City to pursue warmer colored streetlight bulbs
Lawrence City Commission voted to pursue an agreement with Westar Energy to install warmer colored LED streetlights instead of the current whiter LEDs. Westar owns about 75 percent of the lights and would require the city to assume liability for claims tied to the warmer bulbs. City Attorney Toni Wheeler cautioned against increased risk.

Women to Face Separate Trials in Slaying Arson
Douglas County District Court added two murder trials for Tina L. Evans of Lawrence and Christina L. Towell of Leavenworth. Voters Reject Douglas County Sales Tax Hike
