Water department proposes 425000 expansion plan
Councilman F A Russell outlined a 425000 waterworks program with 297400 to be spent over three years. Depreciation funds cover 63000 for mains and hydrants while 144000 comes from operating income and reserves for new equipment. The plan lists pump, meters, wells, and expansion projects with additional items earmarked for future years. A 15 cent monthly per customer trash fee is proposed to aid financing alongside a rate hike to 1.49 for up to 2000 gallons.
