Journalism students judged outstanding by the William Allen White School of Journalism faculty were honored at the University Daily Kansan annual dinner in Memorial Union ballroom with about 180 attendees. Clyde Reed Jr. spoke. awards went to Harry Elliott and Bill Slamin for photography. Letty Lemon and Stanley Hamilton named outstanding seniors. Sigma Delta Chi honored Hamilton as outstanding senior man and awarded Lemon and Gene Shank scholarships. Henry Schott Memorial Prize went to Bruce Dillman. the Schott prize supports a junior in radio journalism. Harris Scholarship was the largest award presented.
