Two fathers give up custody battle in Detroit area
In Macomb County, two men who had joint temporary custody of a 2-year-old boy known as Buddy abandon their bid for formal custody. Neither man is the child's biological parent, and blood tests confirmed this. They plan to seek visitation via a written agreement with the boy's mother India Scott, potentially paying child support. Legal experts say their rights are minimal without termination of the mother's rights or a formal guardianship or adoption.
