Owen W. Maloney 71, longtime Lawrence area native and former sales manager of The World Company, died in Tulsa after a long illness. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Stanley Funeral Home Tulsa with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. He was KU Phi Delta Theta member and Tulsa area business leader, survived by wife Blanche, a son Owen W. Maloney Jr., two daughters, seven grandchildren, and his Tulsa home address.

Lucille Bond, 42, of 235 Ark St, was listed in fair condition at St Luke s Hospital Kansas City after a two car crash on U S Highway 24 40 eight miles northeast of Lawrence. Bond was pinned for about 45 minutes and suffered a fractured thigh and leg. Vernon Edson 43 of Himple Mo in fair condition at Lawrence Memorial Hospital with head injuries. his wife Mable 42, listed in good condition with cuts and bruises.
