Friday events include Volar Chimera Club and Fran Bony Community. Saturday features an antique show, Tauwnice Woman's Club, and St Lawrenc Wrera Workshot. The meeting, led by Mrs John Golden, opened with a business session in which the nurse's scholarship was approved and delegates to the International Convention June 20 to 24 in Denver were chosen. Standing committee chairs for the coming year were announced including membership, courtesy, telephone, social, and sponsorship roles.

Mrs Ethel G Jones of Wheeling West Virginia will leave Sunday after visiting this week with her daughter and family in Lawrence for the state PEO convention. She has been a PEO member for 40 years and has served as local AZ chapter president. Mrs Jones previously lived in Lawrence and later Wheeling with her daughter and son in law. Mrs B E Nelson of Kansas City is visiting at 743 La St with her sister Mrs L H Menger. Jerry Hundley of Colby announces the birth of a son, Jay War y en, on Thursday May 11. Mrs Hundley is the former study Hemphill, daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur Hemphill of Route 3. Mr Hundley’s parents are Mr and Mrs Clay Hundley of Horton. Mr and Mrs Fred Snart returned Thursday from Fort Scott where they spent two days. Mrs Snart’s brother Floyd Carpenter of Fort Scott had been visiting in Lawrence and went home with them. Gerald Pearson, KU Extension director, spoke at Westboro Missouri high school commencement Thursday night. Mrs Mildred H Wilson of Seattle Washington is visiting her mother Mrs L A Wismer and sisters Miss Nettie Wismer and Miss Rebecca Wismer at 342 Johnson Ave Kansas. University Chancellor W Clarke Wescoe is in Chicago attending an AMA Board of Trustees meeting today and will attend a Nelson Art Gallery trust meeting in Kansas City Saturday.

Junior High Students Assist at LWC Show
Members of the Lawrence Woman's Club will be aided by nine West Junior High students at the Centennial Antique Show opening Saturday at the club house. Students Jeannette Hoffecker, Betty Strade, Sherrie Michael, Diane Johnson, Susan Baker, Bob Crown, Morris Engle, Thomas Wilcox and Ronnie Simpson will handle children and greet visitors as the show runs 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
