Lawrence man gets 18 months for 2023 standoff with police
Shawn Daniels, 42, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault linked to a nine hour standoff at Naismith Place in the 1500 block of West 25th Court. Judge Amy Hanley sentenced him to 18 months in prison, with 471 days time served. He previously began competency restoration at Larned State Hospital. Local release possible after good time credit.

Three KU students arrested for trespass after library disturbance
Three University of Kansas students were arrested overnight on suspicion of criminal trespass after defying a 10 p.m. closure notice and causing a disturbance at Anschutz Library. KU officials said the pro Palestine group violated campus camping rules during finals period and were not permitted on university property.
