Kansas bioscience board boosts Deciphera with 390 thousand
The Kansas Bioscience Authority approved a 390000 investment in Lawrence based Deciphera Pharmaceuticals aimed at drug discovery for cancer and autoimmune disorders. Deciphera will match with 1750000, part of 22 million state projects funded this meeting. The panel also backed Cargill Meat Solutions 750000 for a Wichita Technology and Innovation Center, PRA International 350000 for Lenexa lab expansion, KU Cancer Center 250000 for Omega-3 breast cancer research, and Arthropod Borne Animal Disease Research Unit 498900 for Rift Valley Fever tests. Relay For Life of Douglas County will aid ten Douglas County food pantries including the Lawrence Humane Society. Volunteers collect canned goods to weigh luminaries.
