Time on Dogs: police kill stray canines in Douglas county
The black and tan dog hunted by police was found on East Nineteenth street this afternoon and killed. Sheriff Skinner announced plans to begin Monday measures to kill dogs at large under a 40 day county quarantine ordered by the state sanitary commissioner last Tuesday. Officers advised residents to refrain from requesting earlier action, as disposal would start Saturday unless dogs are confined.

Local board approves Kaw River levee contract in Lawrence
Douglas County Kaw Drainage district directors met to award earth fill and concrete wall bids for a Kaw river dike in North Lawrence.
