Silence the great arresting Word in a noisy world
The author muses on silence as self control and restraint in speech. He contrasts religious calls to silence with noisy habit, urges fewer explanations and more restraint, and cites Jesus and other scriptural figures as exemplars of keeping silence to promote peace. He notes radio confidences, the value of quiet reflection, and the virtue of choosing not to speak.
