Local officers searched for 38 year old Harry Allen a federal prisoner en route to Leavenworth after he leaped from a Santa Fe train window about 7 am with a handcuff on one wrist. M. M. Corcoran Dies After Brief Illness at 50
Thomas Martin Corcoran aged 50 died last night in a local hospital after a brief illness. Survived by wife, two daughters Mary Elizabeth and Helen Marie, son William, brother John Corcoran of St. Xavier College New Orleans and three sisters. Funeral 9 am Monday at St John Catholic church conducted by Father Henry Fitzgerald. Burial Mt Calvary cemetery. Corcoran had worked eleven years in the city water department. Born in Troy Kansas he moved to Lawrence in 1909 and studied at KU and Lawrence Business College. He worked for Poehler and Lawrence Mercantile companies and Watkins National Bank before city service.
