Secretary Dies In Plane Crash At Ocean City
Two bodies tentatively identified as Carole Tyler and Robert H. Davis were found offshore after a single engine plane crashed while Davis piloted Miss Tyler over Ocean City beach. Assault Reported By Woman On Sunday
A 23-year-old Lawrence woman told police she was assaulted about 11 10 p m Sunday in the 700 block on Rhode Island Street. She was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for a deep cut over her right eye. Police seek three unidentified men in connection with the alleged assault. A passerby frightened the men away from the scene after she was dragged toward a nearby car.

Lawrence Officials Praise Response to Cleanup and Kids Derby
Lawrence city crews collected 213 loads of litter during Spring Cleanup Week at the sanitary landfill east of town. City Manager Ray Wells called it the greatest response ever. Meanwhile 30 youths joined the Lawrence Kids' Fishing Derby at Mary's Lake, continuing three more Saturdays with prizes for largest fish and a grand prize at session end. The event is in its fifth year, co sponsored by the Lawrence Recreation Commission and the Douglas County Sportsmen Club.

Britons Admit Spy Roles For Pay From Russians Arabs
Two financially strapped Britons with top government jobs pleaded guilty to spying for money. Frank Bossard, 52, an Aviation Ministry engineer, got 21 years for selling guided missile secrets to the Soviet Union. Sgt. Percy Allen, 33, a Defense Ministry clerk, received 10 years for selling defense documents to Arab and Iraqi embassies. Bossard allegedly earned 14 thousand dollars over four years. Allen claimed he needed money after his wife had cancer surgery. Bossard once served as a Bonn embassy attache. a bar encounter led to the plan for espionage and meetings with a supposed Soviet official.
