Reed Not Sure to Run for Senate
Former Senator James A Reed of Missouri arrived in Kansas City saying he has not decided whether to seek the Democratic nomination for his old U S Senate seat. He would not commit, saying all things are possible, and noted he would not confirm Chicago reports claiming he would run. The scene stakes a Missouri Democratic battle with Senator Bennet Champ Clark and party boss Tom Pendergast weighing which candidate will face Republican Roscoe Patterson in November. Reed argues someone must tell Americans what is happening in Washington, recalling his League of Nations critique.
