Microbial Inspiration Shapes Xu’s Envisioning Invisibility Exhibit
Hangzhou sculptor Shiyuan Xu, resident at the Lawrence Arts Center, builds porcelain pieces inspired by single cell microorganisms. The artist’s studio, dubbed the fishbowl, showcases skeletal and glazed structures ahead of her June 29 to July 21 show, with an artist talk planned July 1 at 7 p.m.
