Near Binh Thai and Le My villages eight Viet Cong were killed as a Marine infantry squad used hammer and anvil tactics with rocket and machine gun support. Two Marines were wounded and heavy action involved about 40 Marines with Phantom jets sinking two sampans in the Can Be River.

KU Alumni Leader Dies in Colby at 55
Claude E. Harrison of Colby and national KU Alumni Association board member died of an apparent heart attack at his Colby home Tuesday night aged 55. He was a 1933 KU business graduate and former Colby Chamber president. He started at Phillips Petroleum and rose to manage Northwest Distributing and Steel Structures Inc, later leading Steel Structures since 1945. His sons Sid and Philip also graduated from KU, with Sid earning architecture in 1961 and Philip KU Business School in 1964. Harrison was active in KU student life and Delta Sigma Phi. He was born July 17, 1910, in Akron Colorado.
