Driver convicted in crash that injured two women
Justin Crawford of Topeka pleaded no contest to two counts of aggravated battery after a 2012 head on crash on Maine Street in Lawrence injured two women. In Douglas County District Court Judge Kay Huff convicted him and scheduled sentencing for June 6. Prosecutor Nicole Southall said Crawford told police he was in personal crisis and sped up to 90 mph before the wreck. Police had said he was at least 60 mph in a 25 mph zone.
