Lawrence Chamber Names New President and CEO Greg Williams
Lawrence Chamber of Commerce selects Greg Williams as President and CEO after an intensive search. Williams, a certified economic developer, led Missouri economic development efforts and now leads the Lawrence Douglas County chamber to attract businesses and enhance quality of life. He and his wife Jennifer Dalton move with their triplets as they join the Jayhawk community. Hank Booth will remain as interim CEO during the transition and the board thanks him for steady leadership.

Valor Scholarships Awarded to Children of First Responders
The Valor Public Safety Awards Scholarship program grants a one time $1000 educational stipend to children of first responders. Funds come from sponsors and the Valor golf tournament presented by Crown Automotive. The May 11 event at Alvamar requires early registration by May 4.

Michael Treanor Architects began construction on a new downtown Lawrence facility expected to house over 50 employees, consolidating offices from Lawrence and other cities. The project received a 10 year NRA tax rebate totaling under 500000, with a 2.1 million investment and support from the City County and USD 497.
