Kansas Nebraska split pair in Lincoln baseball doubleheader
Nes. Phil Shirek fanned 10 in the nightcap lifting Nebraska to a 13-3 win after a 12-9 opener loss. Nebraska, 16-5 overall and 2-1 Big 12, got homers from Gordon Mullinax and Keith, and Shirek improved to 4-0. Kansas chased Nebraska starter Robertson early in the opener, scoring five in the third to lead 8-0 and hang on 12-9. Kansas swept 16 hits in that game with Andy School driving in four as KU improved to 22-11-1, 1-2. Kansas hosts Oklahoma in a three-game series starting Friday.
