Wichita Kansas March 28 Herbert and Willie Simpson two barbers of Wichita and Mr and Mrs HL Matthews of Rica county were arrested and brought to the county jail charged with involvement in the murder of Joseph New of Eureka Kansas shot in his yard October 11 1886. They are said to be part of a gang of 11 criminals led by Frank Allgood a train robber murderer and horse thief friendly to south central Kansas for 11 years. Allgood is jailed at Topeka Kan after recent arrest following an investigation started seven months ago by W B Freeman a guard of the Kansas penitentiary. Freeman obtained a confession alleging Allgood killed New and names Amelia New and others connected to the crime.
