Fire destroys rural Lecompton home from spilled thinner ignition
A Monday afternoon fire at 1956 E. 100 Road in Lecompton destroyed a one story home valued over 100000 with contents about 2500. Fire Chief Wayne Riley said paint thinner spilled near a furnace started the blaze as the owner, who did not live there yet, was cleaning. The incident followed by police noted a separate March 17 report of a 15-year-old Lawrence boy showing a handgun to several girls.
