Lecompton resident Dennis Gowing 19 suffered multiple fractures of the left leg when his motor scooter was struck broadside by a northbound sports car driven by Louis Traxler 19. Gowing’s scooter passenger Danny Sanford 16 was uninjured. Traxler reported he could not avoid the collision. Gowing taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital in good condition.
