Church Faces Dilemma Over Demolishing Neighbor House
Grant says selling the home is impractical because part of the church’s parking sits on the house property and removing the house would leave a large empty space. Neighbor Jim Connelly opposes demolition, citing stability concerns and a 30-signature petition. The Lawrence Preservation Alliance offers variances to allow house and parking to coexist and may find buyers to relocate the house, while the church weighs maintenance relief against parking needs and plans to reach a decision by May.
