Kaysan Urey Warel KAMBAG CITY STOCK MARKET reports cattle were steady while sheep and hogs showed softer tones. Cattle sales averaged around 1,480 pounds with prices near 185 per hundred, hog receipts total 932 with prices near 3.90 to 4.10, and sheep offerings 74 with a 4.40 to 4.50 range.
In St Louis on March 17 cattle supply was good but heavy, with prices slipping about 0.0 per hundred pounds to around 1.14. Hogs remained active with mixed packing prices near 4.00 to 4.57. Chicago cattle receipts reached 5,000 with a slow to fairly active tone and steady prices, hogs steady around 4.20 to 4.75, and sheep lively with prices holding from the prior day.
Proposals for subsistence stores to Fort Leavenworth Kansas are invited with bids due by 11 am March 27 1880. Supplies include bacon flour whisky vinegar salt starch yeast powder corned beef lard and other items with quantities and packing standards specified. Samples accompany proposals and blank forms available from the office.
