UNL awards Regents Scholarship to teen charged in murder
The University of Nebraska Lincoln awarded a full tuition Regents Scholarship to 18 year old Matthew Dunagan, an honor student at Pius X High School, who is charged with first degree murder in his father John Dunagan's September death. He is out on bond awaiting Lancaster County District Court trial, with possible juvenile court handling under consideration. The office says background checks are not done for scholarships, and the award does not guarantee attendance. The scholarship requires 12 credit hours per semester and can be withdrawn for non enrollment. Admission is evaluated case by case if felonies or suspensions exist.
