Lawrence city ordinances bar any motor vehicle including RVs from remaining in one public street spot for more than 48 consecutive hours even on dead ends. The ruling comes as residents seek guidance on roadside storage and enforcement.
The American Heart Association plans a mock Cardiac Arrest at the Lawrence Visitors Center in North Lawrence. Judge Ralph Clement will preside as participants are declared guilty to raise funds, with bail collected from colleagues and neighbors within two weeks. Baker University receives a $100,000 gift to fund a $5,000 annual faculty award named for Verda Kopke and family, with the first Kopke Distinguished Faculty Award to be given in spring.
