Jennifer Bessolo, a Lawrence High School graduate and current Shawnee Heights Middle School principal, will assume leadership at New South Middle School on June 30. She has a Washburn BA and MA, KU EdD, and has worked as an assistant principal and English teacher in multiple schools. She succeeds retiring Will Fernandez.
Samrie Devin, formerly an elementary principal at Fort Riley in Geary County, has been named the new Quail Run School principal in Lawrence, effective June 30. Devin, a Lawrence native, taught in Olathe from 1989 to 1995 and has worked in Geary County since 1996, including ten years as principal or interim principal at several elementary schools.
