Caney Gas Well Burning Tamed After Cap Set

Caney Kansas March 3 the Vanderpool farm gas well in Cherokee nation section township 23 range 31 was capped and under control after repairs to Saturday night damage. A 1500 pound hood was added and vent kept open allowing flame to burn until the cap held. If valves were shut gas could reach the ground before cooling.

To Raise Assessments By State Board For Pipe Lines

Caney Gas Well Reignites After Hood Failure

Caney Kansas March 13 a vast gas well ten miles from town, capped yesterday with a large iron hood after a seventeen day blaze, erupted again today. After confining the fire for twelve hours, the hood was blown open by sand and flame, leaving a heap of scrap. Bible Institute Here With Yale Professor Lectures
