Ambush Kills Deputies Near Spavinaw Territory

March 12 report from Indian Territory details a fight near Spavinawas in which six deputy marshals were ambushed by Indian outlaw gangs. Three deputies, I L Giistrap, Otis Tuttle, and Richard Carey, were killed. The posse, led by Marshal Dar Vaugh, was dispatched to the northern district. The outlaws, led by Chay John and Tom Wiowlitte, are described as professional killers with a long criminal record. News of the ambush reached Talequah today as patrols search for the attackers.

Rochester March 12 Susan B Anthony lies in a comatose condition with irregular breathing and expected death imminent. Attending physicians say there is no hope while relatives and aides including Mrs George L Baker and Miss Lucy E Anthony remain at the bedside. Col Mann Indicted in Perjury Case in New York
