Farmland site briefing outlines cleanup funds and use
City commissioners will hear a briefing at 6:35 p.m. on buying the 467 acre Farmland site. The environmental trust fund holds 5.2 million, with cleanup plans at 7.4 million. An administrative fund of 7.8 million could cover demolition and admin needs, while major roads and sewer would require a multimillion dollar multi year project. About 225 acres need no cleanup. 242 acres need work. The site could yield 200 acres for a business park, with remaining land for open space or 4-H Fairgrounds expansion.
