Opposition to County Fairgrounds Rental Fee Hike Draws Concern
Douglas County 4 H Fairgrounds users spoke against higher rental rates at a County Commission meeting. Critics warned fees could triple or quintuple in some cases, affecting clubs like the Happy Times Square Dancers and a three day flea market, while officials cited rising maintenance and operating costs and vowed to let administrators adjust rates later. Some groups noted they would face small per member costs, and a compromise delay kept a vote for next Wednesday.
